Grilled Chicken Sticks

Grilled Chicken Sticks are grilled in hot coal like pork bbq but do you know you can also fry it and make it look as if it was grilled.

Ingredients:
1/3 cup soy sauce
2 tbsps honey or a dash of sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil

dash of hot sauce (optional)
3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced into strips
bamboo skewers (soaked in water several hours)
banana ketchup
oil

Procedures:

Slice the chicken breast into 1/4-inch thick pieces. Skewer the chicken slices onto the bamboo sticks and place into a zip-type bag. Combine the first 3 ingredients in a bowl and stir well. Pour the marinade into the bag and place in refrigerator overnight.

Remove the chicken skewers from the bag. Add little banana ketchup to the remaining marinade and mix. Heat oil in a large non stick pan and fry the chicken over medium heat until cooked on both sides while basting occasionally with the sauce.

Cine Perla

A fine example of Art Nouveau architecture from 1920’s.

Cine Perla

This is one of the most popular movie theater in Cavite City. I remember movie stars visiting this theater to promote their films until the 90's when cinema business is still a lucrative in the city. This city landmark got burned last 2004. What is left now is a vacant lot whose fence are occasionally hanged with promotional streamers.

Indian Tandoori Tikka with Peanut Sauce

This is my very first attempt to cook Indian food ^_^

This instant indian bbq marinate is a bit expensive aside that you need to add a cup of plain yogurt but I like its unique taste plus the instant peanut sauce I paired with it.

The yummy Indian chicken sticks finished product.

KFC Snack Box

Few pieces of french fries and breaded chicken pops with gravy.

Not bad for the price of P50 ^_^

Carioca

Carioca as how Caviteños call it or more commonly called as "Giniling" by Filipinos is made of ground pork, potatoes, green peas and bell pepper. It is not only a viand but it is also a favorite bread filling among Caviteños.

Ingredients:
1 lb ground pork
4 medium potatoes, 1/4 inch cubes
1 small can green peas, drained
1 small red bell pepper, finely-sliced
5 garlic cloves, minced
1 medium onion, finely-sliced
1 tbsp oil
fresh ground pepper
salt and pepper
soy sauce
achuete oil (optional)

Procedure:

Saute onion & garlic in oil. Add pork & brown, making sure to separate ground pork thoroughly. Add enough soy sauce, cover & let simmer over med-heat/flame for 10 mins. Add potatoes & red bell pepper. Mix & cook for another 10 mins. Add canned green peas and enough achuete oil to color. Salt and pepper to taste.

Tapsilog

Resto Name: MerBen Tapsilog sa Tagaytay
Location: Tagaytay City
Type: Filipino
Average Price Per Dish: P80-400

It was early of lunchtime when we arrived. The orders where very quick as in less than 5 minutes everything arrived and we are ready to eat.

Bulalo - P320 (medium)
The resto's main specialty. A heartwarming bowl of beef shank and bone marrow simmered in hot clear soup with onions and pechay baguio. Yummy !

Inihaw na Liempo - P90
Just the typical grilled liempo.

Inihaw na Pusit - P120 (medium)

The squid stuffed with chopped tomatoes and onions is a bit rubbery but its okay.

Noksilog - P85
Noksilog was yummy.

Overall this resto might not be as famous but they definitely serve one of the best bulalo I've ever tasted at a very affordable price. I'll try the fried tawilis next time since its their other house specialty. By the way, they also have "cumbancheros" singing and serenading while you eat if you want.

Jatujak

Resto Name: Jatujak
Location: Mall of Asia
Type: Thai
Average Price Per Dish: P150-350

Sampler Appetizer - P 198

Shrimp cake, fish cake and Thai spring roll. All taste yummy but we like the most. It’s somewhat similar to the fresh lumpia at Phoa.

Tom Yum All-Shrimps (medium) - P195

We opted for the not spicy one and it tasted like “sinigang” except rather than kangkong leaves it has buttons mushrooms, and tanglad.

Sate Chicken - P175

Some pieces are a bit burnt on one side but it tasted fine.

Jasmin Rice - P35

In pretty and unique design serving cup

Lemon Iced Tea - P70

Tasted like boiled tanglad we typically had at home except it has a dash of honey mint leave and ice.

Thai Green Iced Tea - P70

Very strong taste of green tea plus the ice doesn’t melt too fast.

If you like tasting Thai food that is not too expensive and with fast service this resto is a must try.
