This is one of my favorite potato dishes while growing up. My mother usually makes large egg shapes but I prefer small round balls.
Ingredients:
3 large potatoes, boiled and mashed
1/4 lb ground beef
1 small white onion, finely chopped
1 egg
salt & pepper to season
flour and japanese breadcrumbs for coating
oil for frying
Procedure:
Saute onion and beef in a medium skillet. Mix mashed potatoes and onion and beef in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Cool. Shape potatoes into small round calls. Coat each piece with flour. Dip in beaten egg, and coat in japanese bread crumbs. Fry until golden brown.
