Creamy Maja Mais

Maja Mais is another version of one of the famous Philippine desserts – Maja Blanca. It is made out of coconut milk, corn and cornstarch.


4 cups coconut milk
3/4 cup or more cornstarch
1 can condensed milk
3/4 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 can cream style corn
Toasted grated coconut

Pour the coconut milk in a pot and bring to a boil. Add the sugar, condensed milk, and cream style corn. Stir until all the ingredients are evenly distributed. Simmer. Combine the evaporated milk and cornstarch then whisk until the cornstarch is diluted. Pour the milk and cornstarch mixture in the cooking pot stirring until mixture reaches your desired thickness. Pour the mixture in a serving trays and flatten. Allow to cool then refrigerate until firm. Garnish with toasted grated coconut (or latik if available)
