Nilasing na Hipon or Drunken Shrimps is a crispy deep fried shrimps marinated in liquor like gin or beer.
This is not a Caviteñean dish but definitely one of my fave ways to cook shrimp other than sinigang and ginataan.
1/2 kilo fresh small shrimps live ones are best
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup gin or beer
1 cup 7up or sprite
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp seasoning powder (optional)
oil for frying
Marinate the shrimps in salt, pepper, gin and sprite for 4 to 5 hrs. Drain then roll shrimps in flour & seasoning till well coated. Deep fry & drain in paper towels. Serve hot with dip made with combination of vinegar, minced garlic, dash of sugar, salt & pepper.
