Mang Jose

Resto Name: Mang Jose
Location: beside Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite
Type:  Filipino
Average Price Per Dish: P100-P180

This is one of the newest inihaw resto which just opened last March 2017 beside Aguinaldo Shrine. Its an open ihaw-ihaw resto that looks very inviting and always packed with people at night.

Another night full of many diners.

Inihaw choices pork, fish, squid, chicken and eggplant

The menu

Some food items are not available

What we ordered:

Orders are very fast that you only have to wait for 5 minutes and everything is already served.

Free Soup

Expecting something like the typical medyas soup but its Nido Soup!

Sisig Nachos - P100

Since the menu says nachos, expecting nachos but what was served is thin cracker like huge version of chicharap of Chowking. Around 8-9 pieces topped with spicy three tablespoons sisig then drizzled with thousand island. Nothing fancy about this dish even if the sisig is yummy. Not worth re-ordering again.

Inihaw na Pusit (small) - P200

Grilled squid is the only dish that ranges from P200-P500 depending on the size of your choice. Sulit for the price and the squid is soft. Problem is it's not that clean. Occasionally you will find small plastic of inside the squid in your mouth while munching it.

Pork Tenderloin BBQ - P130

Tender and tasted is more on the sweet side but the smell is "papanis" na. It seems nakulob ng matagal bbq ng container thus the not so good smell but the sawsawan is yummy.

In all resto, numbers are removed from the table the moment all orders are completed, here they just leave it and only removes it when they clean the tables after the customers leaves.

There are two people manning the grilling station. Medyo naguluhan ako observing paano mag-ihaw si kuya since we were seated sa tapat niya. Paiba-iba style kahit puro manok ang toka sa kanya. Didn't order any chicken and I was curious if okay kaya dahil nasunog yung batch ng iniihaw niya but it was all served.

In terms of service superb but in quality of food, it needs more improvement both in flavor and cooking method. Also since it is an open area chances are amoy usok ka after eating unless you will choose tables located inside.

Vikings SM Jazz

Resto Name: Vikings
Location: SM Jazz Mall, Bel-Air, Makati City
Type:  American, Italian, Spanish, Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Korean
Buffet Price: P688 / P888 Eat-All-You-Can Buffet and Drinks

Awed by the ambiance and interior of Vikings Buffet Restaurant branch in SM Jazz Mall in Makati. The place looks so luxurious.

Cakes and Sweets

The crepe station wherein both the male and female crew doesn't know how to make a crepe at all. It took me three times reminding them them that I am ordering a crepe. Haltang ayaw magluto ni guy. They he flipped the crepe eh di durog-durog. When the girl cooked one too as I observed dhail katapat ngtable namin she flipped it too. Just wondering how come they Vikings didn't train this crew. Sa Dad's at Buffet101 matino naman ang mga nagluluto ng crepe dito hindi talaga.

Bibingka and Puto Bumbong

The very colorful glass chandelier.

Salad Station

Cheese Platter

Super yummy even its only four kinds of cheese

Churros

Appetizers

Breads and Fillings

 Japanese Section

Tempuras

The salmon and tuna is the huge disappointment. It tasted straight from the freezer.
NOT FRESH !!!

Korean Section

My least like. Didn't bother tasting it.
Majority of the dishes are dried up and doesn't look freshly cooked.

Filipino Section

Nothing special in the covered catering tray dishes except these giant crabs.

We were lucky to devour because we were there at the opening. 30 minutes after they refilled it with small ordinary crabs that is no longer yummy.

Shabu-Shabu

Pick what you like and what broth. It will be delivered on your table with a kalan.

Chinese Section

Went here several time to get a hakaw but I ended up luhaan until we finished our entire lunch. It was rarely refilled and whenever I came to get nakuha na ng iba. PASHNEA !

Italian and Spanish Section

Paella

Baked Oyster

Super yummy oysters

Lamb Dish

Bellychon

The serving at the opening hour is so yummy. Too bad I only got a little because when I came back almost two hours after latak na lang at di masarap.

Roast Section

The roast beef and lamb is a bit tough but the chicken is yummy.

Grilling Section

Too bad those who are assigned at the grilling station doesn't know how to grill at all. The chicken sticks was all burned on the other side that its too hard too chew. We ended up just throwing it. The fish slices also was a bit burned when delivered in our table.

Wine Section

They do serve wine of your choice for an added fee.

DRINKS

There are so many to choose from than Buffet 101. Take your pick !

.
Coffee

Sago't Gulaman

First Plate
Crabs, roast beef, roast chicken, pork loin, lamb, baked oysters, paella

Grilled Fishes

 Shabu-Shabu with lots of mushrooms

Second Plate
Cheeses, salads, tuna & salmon sashimi, tempura

Grilled chicken sticks that was not grilled properly :(

Super Yummy Milk Tea

Black Sesame and Pistachio Ice Cream

Not so yummy Leche Flan - lacks eggyolk
Panacotta
Churros - no chocolate so I got a spoonful of blueberry

Churros con tsokolate
Berry Crepe since no vanilla ice cream I replaced it with macapuno ice cream
Surprisingly the macapuno ice cream is very yummy

Overall, I love the ambience the most. In terms of food way better than Buffet 101 although it had its misses like : the crepe and grilling station because of the untrained crew, frozen salmon and tuna, tough roast beef and lamb cuts. No spicy toro sashimi, green tea and avocado ice cream that I read some blogs are raving about. In terms of food spread this definitely way better than Buffet101. They also serve a super yummy taho which I forgot to take a photo.
