Location: Mall of Asia
Type: Taiwanese
Average Price Per Dish: P80-120
This small food shop caught me and my sister’s attention yesterday at Mall of Asia. The signage claims they are serving authentic Taiwanese chicken chops. Never been outside the country so I have no idea what the original Taiwan chops really taste like compared to the one they are serving.
Chicken Chop(Original flavor) + Rice + Soup - P115
Chicken Chop (Chili Hot flavor) + Creamy Pasta - P105
Iced Green Tea - P30
The creamy pasta was a disappointment. The sauce does not have a taste of cream at all. It tasted more like cornstarch paste you used in making paper mache school projects. The soup is too watery and tasted like the store bought Knorr mushroom soup. And now the star of the store - the chicken chop. The chili flavored tasted better than the original flavored. I can’t figure out what coating they used but it definitely killed the chicken taste. After several bites its “nakakaumay” Also the chicken still has pieces of bones in it I don’t know that’s the way how they really served it. The green tea was just okay nothing special.
Although service was fast since we are the only customer that time but this will be the first and last time I will visit this food shop. There are other food shops that are serves yummier food that has almost the same price range. If ever have a chance to go to Taiwan I’ll definitely scout for chicken chops to kill my curiosity.
