Mapo Tofu

Mapo tofu (ma po dou fu) is one of the most popular classic flavorful Sichuan dishes and a little spicy tofu dish made with garlic, ginger, and ground pork originating from China


Ingredients:
1 pound tofu, cut into slices 
1/2 cup chicken broth 
1 tbsp cornstarch 
2 tbsps soy sauce 
1 tbsp Lee Kum Kee oyster sauce 
2 tsps Lee Kum Kee chili garlic sauce 
200 grams ground pork 
1 tbsp grated peeled fresh ginger 
3 garlic cloves, minced

Procedure:

Place tofu slices on several layers of paper towels; cover with additional paper towels. Place a dinner plate on top of covered tofu; let stand 30 minutes. Remove plate; discard paper towels. Cut tofu slices into 1/2-inch cubes.

Combine broth, cornstarch, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and chili garlic sauce, stirring with a whisk.

Saute ground pork in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until done. Add ginger and garlic; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add tofu; cook until golden. Add broth mixture to pan. Bring to a boil. Cook 1 minute or until mixture thickens. Remove from heat. Serve.

Sizzling Tuna and Tofu Sisig




Ingredients:

1 cup tuna chunks or solid – drained or fresh tuna fried then flaked
2 pcs tofu cut into small cubes and fried
1 white onion, chopped
1 pc red chili, chopped
1 tbsp calamansi juice
1 tbsp liquid seasoning
1 tbsp sugar
1⁄2 tsp pepper
butter
eggs, optional
mayonnaise, optional

Procedure:

Put in a bowl, tuna chunks, calamansi juice, liquid seasoning, sugar and pepper. Put butter and onions, in hot frying pan. Add tuna mixture and mix for a few seconds. Add cooked firm tofu and chili. Mix well. Served. You can also top it with fresh egg in a sizzling plate and mayonnaise.

Fried Tofu Nuggets

Fried Tofu Nuggets are reminiscent of chicken nuggets and can be dipped in ketchup, barbecue sauce or ranch dressing.


Ingredients:
1 block firm or extra-firm tofu, pressed or tokwa
flour
egg
bread crumbs
salt and pepper to taste

Procedure:
Slice tokwa into serving pieces of your choice.
Place flour seasoned with salt and pepper in a bowl.
Place bread crumbs in a separate bowl. Beat egg.
Dip each tokwa in flour, egg then bread crumbs.
Repeat until all pieces are coated.
Fry in oil until golden brown, serve with ketchup, barbeque sauce or other dipping sauce and enjoy!
