Parao de Cavite

Parao de Cavite is a traditional Filipino sailing boat that originated from Cavite. It is a traditional wooden boat characterized by its long, narrow design, typically made from sturdy hardwood such as molave or yakal. It features outriggers or katig (floats) on either side for stability and balance. The sail is typically made of woven materials like canvas or banig (a traditional Filipino mat), and it is hoisted on a mast.

Historically, the Parao was used for various purposes, including fishing, transportation, and trade. It played a significant role in the seafaring culture of Cavite, serving as a means of livelihood and connecting communities along the coast.
