Kumia Cakes and Pastries

Resto Name: Kumia Cakes and Pastries
Location: Cavite City
Type: Filipino/American
Average Price Per Dish: P80-P160

This small resto is located along P.Burgos just before the muralla if you are going to PN.

There were balloons inside when we dine in on Saturday only to find out it was their anniversary that day.

There is a small buffet table on one corner which the crew said we can eat pica-pica while waiting for our order and it's free. Wow  FREE !!!

Tasted four of the six items in the buffet. Didn't ate the pininyahang manok and puto since we might be full and not finish our order. Super love the maja blanca and strawberry gulaman. The shanghai is yummy too. Didn't like much the pancit bato of Bicol since I find it dry or maybe I am just used to the traditional pancits we have here in Cavite.

The name of the resto has Cakes and Pastries so I am expecting more of this in the menu but there are only a few types of cakes in the ref and haven't seen any pastries although we didn't ask. They have ube, leche flan and salad. Ordered Almond Choco Sansrival after browsing the ref only to find when it was taken out to be sliced it is from Conti's !!!

Conti's Almond Choco Sansrival - P88

Of course this is super yummy Conti's ata ito !!!

We asked what are their specialty or best seller in the resto while ordering but both women whom I  presumed is a crew and the other one is the owner answered everything is a best seller.Every resto we dined always has a best seller to suggest to customers. They just described some of what they have in the menu and didn't really want to answer the normal resto customer question.

This is what we end up ordering:

 Grilled Liempo - P110
Liempo serving was huge and the pork melts in your mouth. Can't define the exact flavor of the marinate used but habang natagal nakakauta siya. The atsara is of little help na pangtanggal suya.

Carbonara - P80
The carbonara has this a bit of sour flavor in its sauce and is just so-so.
The toasted bread has too generous margarine and not butter thus overpowering in taste. Medyo nakakauta.

Iced Macchiato - P80
Yummy. This drink and the sansrival saved the dining experience.

They also sell homemade achara and bagoong.

Love the coffee and the cake which is Conti's. The two resto made dishes are so-so thus a 2.5 food rating but I like the ambiance and service.
